From protecting our natural heritage to raising money for park projects, there are dozens of organizations working day in and day out to keep Glacier a special place for all of us.

American Rivers

American Rivers is a conservation organization that stands up for healthy rivers so communities can thrive.  American Rivers long-term goal is to gain Wild and Scenic designation for the most pristine tributaries of the North, Middle and South forks of the Flathead, and protect native bull trout and westslope cutthroat trout from the threats of habitat degradation and invasive species.

Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society

CPAW's goal us to protect at least 50% of Canada’s wilderness and oceans. We are science based, we provide constructive solutions, and we practice respectful advocacy. CPAWS strives to be focused, determined, tenacious and effective and work collaboratively with communities, industry and First Nations to achieve our goals.

Clark Fork Coalition

Founded in 1985, the Clark Fork Coalition is dedicated to protecting and restoring the Clark Fork River basin, a 22,000-square-mile area draining western Montana and northern Idaho. . The Coalition's approach puts people in touch with Clark Fork River and the cause for a healthy watershed, and it has made the Coalition a trusted and respected voice for our rivers and communities.

Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited

Northwest Montana contains two-thirds of all the recreational waters in the state.  Flathead Valley Trout Unlimited provides support for native species that include westslope cutthroat, bull trout, and red-band rainbow trout.  FVTU is dedicated to the conservation, protection, and restoration of our valuable coldwater fisheries and their habitats.

Glacier Association

The goal of the Glacies Association is to advance stewardship of our natural and cultural heritage through education and interpretation, and to help ensure the future of these extraordinary national treasures for generations to come.

Glacier National Park Fund

As the official fundraising partner for Glacier National Park, the Glacier National Park Fund supports the preservation of the outstanding natural beauty and cultural heritage of Glacier National Park for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations by fostering public awareness and encouraging private philanthropy.

Headwaters Montana

Headwaters Montana works on a limited number of initiatives that focus on the human responsibility of maintaining and protecting the natural heritage of our home in the Crown of the Continent. Headwaters Montana works to protect the "Three W's" of the North Fork Flathead: Water, Wildlife and Wild Recreation.

Montana Wildlife Federation

Montana Wildlife Federation is an organization of conservation minded people who share a mission to protect and enhance Montana's public wildlife, lands, waters, and fair chase hunting and fishing heritage.

National Parks Conservation Association

The mission of the National Parks Conservation Association is protect and enhance America's National Park System for present and future generation.  Supported by private philanthropy, NPCA has field offices located throughout the United States; including, the Glacier Field Office located in Whitefish, Montana. 

North Fork Preservation Association

The North Fork Preservation was founded in 1982 to counter two threats to the area: the proposed paving of the North Fork and the creation of an open-pit coal min to the North in BC.

Sierra Club-British Columbia

Sierra Club BC is a non-profit environmental organization whose mission is to protect and conserve British Columbia’s wilderness, species and ecosystems, within the urgent context of global warming impacts. We advocate the responsible use of B.C.’s natural resources while promoting a modern, equitable economy that sustains our planet in every way.

The Wilderness Society, Northern Rockies Office

Our mission is to protect Wilderness and inspire Americans to care for their wild places. Within the Northern Rockies our top priority landscape is the Crown of the Continent, which includes Glacier National Park.

Wildsight-British Columbia

Wildsight works to maintain biodiversity and healthy human communities in Canada's Columbia and Rocky Mountains ecoregion. We are focused on three core areas: the southern Rockies, the upper Columbia River Valley, and the Columbia Mountains. This ecoregion provides critical genetic connectivity for western North America's wildlife populations.

Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative

How did the grizzly cross the road? Hopefully the answer is safely. Y2Y, a Canada-US not-for-profit organization, is all about people working together to create one safe, ecologically rich and healthy connected wildlife corridor that extends from Yellowstone National Park to the Yukon.
